This R&D project commissioned four arts, cultural and/or environmental organisations to create walks/trails/journeys within these areas, in May & June 2023, with an aim to explore the physical and psychological barriers local communities experience within their local environment – both urban and rural. These commissions resulted in the delivery of 14 bespoke events. The organisations were: The Common Space, Boojum and Snark, Equals and Ventnor Exchange. Its purpose was to build understanding and awareness of the IW UNESCO Biosphere status, and its evaluation report to lead into a much wider place-making project.
